'object is not a matrix' error in R when running RDD

data = read_dta('file.dta')
data$disc = data$fin - 37.48
data$d = ifelse(data$fin > 37.48, 1, 0)
reg.1=RDestimate(all~d,data=data,cutpoint=37.48)
Error in model.frame.default(terms(formula, lhs = lhs, rhs = rhs, data = data, : object is not a matrix
I'm trying to run a RDD regression in R and keep getting this error. I'm not doing much to the data file and I'm not sure which element needs to be a matrix but isn't.
trying to follow these instructions: https://rpubs.com/cuborican/RDD

what's the class of your data? Can be found byclass(data)
. If it's not a matrix, maybe tryas.matrix(data)
and see if that works?
