C#: How to convert List to each individual array
$begingroup$
I have data that is stored in an array of class. Assume the following class:
class Employee
{
public int employeeId;
public string employeeName;
}
So I have List<Employee> employeeData
and I'm going to do bulk insert to database using Oracle. OracleCommand
requires each class member to be specified in the command parameter, meaning I have to create
List<int> employeeId = new List<int>();
List<string> employeeName = new List<string>();
Then I will need to loop from my List<Employee>
class and assign to each individual list.
foreach (Employee e in employeeData)
{
employeeId.Add(e.employeeId);
employeeName.Add(e.employeeName);
}
And then I will bind the parameters and invoke the insert command:
OracleParameter opEmpId = new OracleParameter();
opEmpId.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Int32;
opEmpId.Value = employeeId;
OracleParameter opEmpName = new OracleParameter();
opEmpName.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Varchar2;
opEmpName.Value = employeeName;
// create command and set properties
OracleCommand cmd = connection.CreateCommand();
cmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO EMPLOYEE (EMPLOYEE_ID, EMPLOYEE_NAME) VALUES (:1, :2)";
cmd.ArrayBindCount = employeeId.Count;
cmd.Parameters.Add(employeeId);
cmd.Parameters.Add(employeeName);
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
My question is that, if I have many class members, how to do this efficiently, in the transformation from class Employee
to each individual list?
