How to fill a table by columns?

0

So, I'm getting some data from a database, which is organized by categories. I need to fill in a table based on these categories using JSTL, but the output is not as expected. The code that is provided below is the way I'm creating the table.

<table>
<tr>
<th>Maestría</th>
<th>Especialización</th>
<th>Doctorado</th>
</tr>
<c:forEach items = "${postgrads}" var = "postgrad">
<tr>
<td>
<c:if test = "${postgrad.type == 'Maestría'}">
<c:out value = "${postgrad.name}"/>
</c:if>
</td>
<td>
<c:if test = "${postgrad.type == 'Especialización'}">
<c:out value = "${postgrad.name}"/>
</c:if>
</td>
<td>
<c:if test = "${postgrad.type == 'Doctorado'}">
<c:out value = "${postgrad.name}"/>
</c:if>
</td>
</tr>
</c:forEach>
</table>

The output that I'm getting is https://imgur.com/a/tHl2V6a but I want to remove or replace the blank space that is above the "Especialización en ingeniería de software"

This is the source code of that output

<table>
<tr>
<th>Maestría</th>
<th>Especialización</th>
<th>Doctorado</th>
</tr>

<tr>
<td>

Maestría en Ingeniería de Software

</td>
<td>

</td>
<td>

</td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td>

</td>
<td>

Especialización en Ingeniería de Software

</td>
<td>

</td>
</tr>

</table>

And the expected source code is

<table>
<tr>
<th>Maestría</th>
<th>Especialización</th>
<th>Doctorado</th>
</tr>

<tr>
<td>

Maestría en Ingeniería de Software

</td>
<td>

Especialización en Ingeniería de Software

</td>
<td>

</td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td>

Maestría en Ingeniería Civil

</td>
<td>

</td>
<td>

</td>
</tr>

</table>
