Getting nullpointerexception when converting pfx to p12 on Keytool
I recognize this is related to this question (convert pfx format to p12) but I have been unable to find why I'm getting an error when I try to convert my pfx file.
I am attempting to use Keytool to convert a pfx file that was created using makecert in Microsoft SDK to a p12 file using the command: keytool -importkeystore -destkeystore newkey.p12 -deststoretype pkcs12 -srckeystore HOSTNAME.pfx
I relocated my pfx file to the JDK bin folder. When prompted, I create a new destination keystore password. Then, when I am prompted to enter the source keystore password, if I enter nothing, I get a warning stating that the information in srckeystore has not been verified, followed by java.lang.NullPointerException: invalid null input. If I enter anything else (I've tried "changeit" and "changeme", as well as the password to my original pfx), I get an error stating the keystore password is incorrect.
I've had success using -importkeystore to convert .jdk to .p12, so I'm not sure why I'm having issues this time around.
Thank you for any guidance you're able to provide!
