How to pass sql resultset as argument in feature file?
This is my feature file where in I'm fetching student count from DB1 and DB2 by using SQL query then comparing two result sets:
Scenario: Verify the student Count
Given Log into DB1
And Execute student count query in DB1
Given Log into DB2
And Execute student count query in DB2
Then Compare DB1 and DB2 student Count
And Close the DB
In Step definition file, I'm fetching the DB1 and DB2 result and passing the two resultset as arguments in the below step definition method:
public void Compare_DB1_and_DB2_student_Count(ResultSet DB1_count, ResultSet DB2_count ) throws Throwable {
while (DB1_count.next()) {
DB2_count.next();
ResultSetMetaData metadata_count = DB1_count.getMetaData();
int col_count = metadata_count.getColumnCount();
for (int index = 1;index<=col_count;index++) {
if (!DB1.getObject(index).equals(DB2.getObject(index))) {
System.out.println("Test Fail");
}
}
}
System.out.println("Test Pass");
}
When I execute this, it says cucumber.runtime.CucumberException: Arity mismatch:with pattern [^Compare_DB1_and_DB2_student_Count$] is declared with 2 parameters. However, the gherkin step has 0 arguments .
Could someone please tell me how to pass resultsets in feature and step definition file.

Store the Resultset as instance variables in the stepdefinition class in the execute methods. No need to pass it in the comparison step.
