Warning message in pec function using rfsrc model in R

I have used Random Survival Forest function from randomForestSRC package on a traindata and then to calculate Brier Score on testing set I have used pec function from pec package as follows:

PredError <- pec::pec(object=model,
formula=frmla, cens.model="cox",
data=testdata, verbose=F, maxtime=1000,testIBS=TRUE)

The function returns this warning message:

In fitter(X, Y, strata = Strata, offset = offset, weights = weights,  :
Ran out of iterations and did not converge

Can someone help me to understand the meaning?

  • Usually fitter functions have an niter or iter.max that can be increased.
