Run Python script from the interactive console or another Python script without invoking a new process
I need to run Python scripts and the complex "eggs"/modules:
- Without running them as a separate process.
- In such a way that allows command line arguments to be passed to them.
- Without their invocation modifying the environment they are being run in.
- In such a way that can be used in another Python script or from the interactive shell.
For instance, I'd like to be able to run binwalk
with arguments from the interactive shell without Python invoking it as it would be invoked as if it were invoking using execve
or a related system call. I cannot use subprocess
because I don't have the ability to make the scripts I want to run executable.
