How to revert the page sorting in Confluence back to the default?

0

Situation: I use Atlassian Confluence Cloud. The pages tree on the left side is sorted alphabetically by default. There are options to manually order pages if desired.

Challenge: Once a page family was manually ordered, I am unable to get Confluence to revert back to the automatic ordering for an entire page family. In the space settings under Content Tools > Reorder Pages, a page family can be ordered alphabetically; see image. However, this applies the ordering as a one-off for the existing pages only. Later added pages (new or moved pages without manual ordering) are added at the end of a page family.

Question: How do I revert a page family back to use the automatic ordering even for new pages within a page family?

Preferred solution: Ideally there's a way to sort the pages before the rendering on the client. Again, this is for Confluence Cloud, not Confluence Server. If that's not doable, I assume I will have to add a CSS style or JS script somewhere as it seems that nothing works out of the box.

Yes, I did research this (for instance this) and yes, I did read the Confluence Cloud manual in regards to that topic (for instance this). All avenues led to non-satisfying answers.
