How do i display this sql data in two columns and 5 rows

0

I have created the following code, it outputs from my SQL database. It creates 10 rows and one column, I am trying to edit the code so the same 10 results are outputed into 2 columns rather than the one?

<div id="tablecontainer">
<table id="newstable">
<?
$query = "SELECT item, link, datestamp, thumb, summary, date FROM news where ((outdoor ='1' and view ='1')) order by datestamp desc limit 10";

if (ExecuteQuery($linkdb, $result, $query)) {
while ($row = NextRow($result)) {

if (is_null($row[3]))
{
$thumb = 'images/news.jpg';
}
else
{
$thumb = 'images/'.$row[3];
}

print('

<tr class="newstablerow" valign="top">
<td colspan="2" class="newstableitem headline" valign="top"><a class="nounderline" href="'.$row[1].'"><h4 id="newsheadline">'.$row[0].'</h4></a><a class="newssummary"<p>'.$row[4].'</p></a>

<td class="newstableitem newsdate" valign="top"><a class="newstableshortdate" href="'.$row[1].'">'.$row[5].'</a></td></tr>

');

}
}

?>
</table>
</div>

  • You appear to be missing a closing </td> in your code after "$row[4].'</p></a>". I would STRONGLY recommend that you break out your code into much more manageable, tab correct blocks to help you with this.
