DataTrigger condition using Selector.IsSelectionActive attached property

0

I'm trying to override the triggers of the Mahapps ListBoxItem Controls.ListBox.xaml without copying the entire ControlTemplate. For that, I'm overriding the Style adding Style Triggers. My goal is to override the Background color of the item depending on a flag of the bounded model. So I did the following:

<Style TargetType="ListBoxItem" BasedOn="{StaticResource {x:Type ListBoxItem}}">
<Style.Triggers>
<DataTrigger Binding="{Binding IsCurrentPaused}" Value="True">
<Setter Property="Background" Value="{StaticResource HighlightCurrentPausedBrush}"/>
</DataTrigger>
<MultiDataTrigger>
<MultiDataTrigger.Conditions>
<Condition Binding="{Binding IsCurrentPaused}" Value="True"/>
<Condition Binding="{Binding IsSelected, RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}}" Value="True"/>
</MultiDataTrigger.Conditions>
<Setter Property="Background" Value="{StaticResource HighlightCurrentPausedBrush}"/>
</MultiDataTrigger>
<MultiDataTrigger>
<MultiDataTrigger.Conditions>
<Condition Binding="{Binding IsCurrentPaused}" Value="True"/>
<Condition Binding="{Binding IsSelected, RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}}" Value="True"/>
<Condition Binding="{Binding IsSelectionActive, RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}}" Value="True"/>
</MultiDataTrigger.Conditions>
<Setter Property="Background" Value="{StaticResource HighlightCurrentPausedBrush}"/>
</MultiDataTrigger>
</Style.Triggers>

IsCurrentPaused is the flag and when it is true, the color of the item should change in all states (mouse over, selected, etc). However, from my testing, the Selector.IsSelectionActive is required to be in the condition, otherwise it won't work; the catch is that I cannot create a binding with Selector.IsSelectionActive in MultiDataTrigger.

As you can see, I need a trigger using data from ListBoxItem and data from the model, and that is only possible using DataTrigger (and setting the binding to RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}} when using properties of the ListBoxItem).

Any ideas how to accomplish this?

EDIT: as a matter of fact, it cannot be done even copying the whole template and trying to change the triggers =|
