convert HttpServletResponse to FileInputStream

I have a Zip file downloaded from FTP server and the downloaded file is available in the HttpServletResponse object.
I have already written an utility program to decompress archived files using FileInputStream.
I now want to first convert the HttpServletResponse to FileInputStream so that I can decompress the downloaded file and upload it back to the FTP server location.
I am thinking of writing a program to create a temporary file to move the data from HttpServletResponse to FileInputStream but I am skeptical about it. Below is the sample program.
HttpServletResponse response
...
//Programming logic to download file from FTP to response object
...
FileInputStream fis = null;
FileChannel inputChannel = null;
FileChannel outputChannel = null;
Path archiveFilePath = Files.createTempFile(fileName, null);
OutputStream outStream = (OutputStream) response.getOutputStream();
if(outStream != null) {
FileOutputStream fos = (FileOutputStream) outStream;
outputChannel = fos.getChannel();
fis = new FileInputStream(archiveFilePath.toFile());
inputChannel = fis.getChannel();
outputChannel.transferTo(0, inputChannel.size(), inputChannel);
outputChannel.close();
fos.close();
}
Can anyone help me understand how do we convert from HttpServletResponse to FileInputStream? What needs to be done to make the above program work as required.
Any help on this topic is much appreciated.
Regards,
Alphonsa
