Pre build event on visual studio database project to rename variables

0

I have a database project that is referencing a link server. I have followed the following tutorial on how to set this up by using variables in the database reference.

https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/06f79a4a-812c-46b4-872c-c0bf51755163/sql71561-computed-column-has-an-unresolved-reference-to-object-even-though-reference-exists?forum=ssdt

I have then gone through all my sql scripts and changed the hard coded link server reference to be the correct variable. My DB project builds and I can deploy fine - happy days

However, if I ever want to update the database project by comparing it to my dev database the hard coded link server references will re-appear . I then have to go through by hand and switch them back to be the variables again.

Is there some way in the pre-build event to look through file for a certain text and replace it with something else?
