Correct Wordpress MySQL db syntax for db.opt file in MySQL 5.7
I need to change the db.opt file to upload to PHPmyAdmin to enable it to be accepted by our server. The file was downloaded from a R1soft backup, and I cannot access details about the original server and db currently.
The version of MySQL I am uploading to is 5.7.23
What we have is
default-character-set=utf8
default-collation=utf8_general_ci
Among other things, we have tried:
character-set-server=utf8
collation-server=utf8_general_ci
I have searched https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/dynindex-statement.html but am none the wiser
The message I keep getting is
1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'character-set-server=utf8
collation-server=utf8_general_ci' at line 1
Any clues greatly appreciated.
