SPARQL: Find all artist living in the same city
How do I select all artists (or all x) living in the same city (or y) if the city (y) is not specified?
I just tried to query it like (generic example):
SELECT ?x1 ?x2 ?y1
WHERE {
?x1 :livesIn ?y1.
OPTIONAL {?x2 :livesIn ?y2.}
FILTER(?y1 = ?y2)
}

And what does not work? Why not using the same variabley
for bothx1
andx2
. Moreover, you should omit samex_i
:SELECT ?x1 ?x2 ?y1 WHERE { ?x1 :livesIn ?y1. ?x2 :livesIn ?y1. FILTER(?x1 != ?x2)
- I don't know what you mean by "if the city is unknown" - in that case no comparison is possible, or not?
