How to remove nested json in mysql

0

I have a JSON whose key is of the format "15427798225bf4-f3ae1aea4". MySQL(5.7) allows to store it. but I am having trouble while removing the nested data.

set @www = '{"15427798225bf4-f3ae1aea4": {"data": {"somekey" : "somevalue"}}, "meta": {"somemeta": "metametavalue."}}}';

select JSON_REMOVE(@www, '$.15427798225bf4-f3ae1aea4.meta') as result;

  1. using '-' (dash) might be bad practice. is there any other symbol I can use as key if any.

  • Are you attempting to remove just the nested data, the "$.meta" and the "$.$.15427798225bf4-f3ae1aea4", or just parts of the underlying document?
