Javascript delete sub data from object function

-1

I want to create a function have deletes some data from here inside points:

{
"firstname":"max",
"lastname":"smith",
"games":"football",
"points":[
{
"type":"one",
"dec":"2",
},
{
"type":"two",
"dec":"5",
}
]
}

For example:

function delete(pointsIndex) {
currentData = theData;
newData = (CurrentData minus removePointsRowByIndex);

}

How can I do this?

Firstly, delete is a reserved keyword in Javascript.

If you want to remove a single a single record from an array, you would use a splice function on the array.

function myDelete(pointsIndex){
currentData = theData;
newData = currentData.points.splice(pointsIndex, 1);
}

The second parameter in the splice method determines how many items to delete, first is the index from where to start deletion.
