LDAP connectivity and visibility in SAP HANA
I'm using SAP's SAP Academy video to create an LDAP-authenticated users. The video is here.
Everything is working correctly, as far as setting up an LDAP provider and an LDAP-validated user, but I'm seeing two things that can't make sense and make me feel like something is not right:
I tried to use this user for SAP Studio and I kept getting an error that the user name or password are not correct. I can, however, connect locally on my machine with hdbsql.
I'm using a sniffer to analyze the communication on my Hana server and when I use my LDAP user to login locally with hdbsql I don't see any traffic that I can say for sure comes from the connection. But there is definitely a login and I can definitely connect to the database.
Can anyone explain why these two things are happening? I asked the same question on SAP community but nobody's answering.
The Hana version is 2 SP 3, on Suse 12.1.
SQL I ran to create the user on Hana:
alter LDAP provider my_ldap_provider enable user creation for LDAP;
validate LDAP provider my_ldap_provider check user creation for LDAP user koko;
ldap hana network-traffic
