Can't use the functions of the Youtube Player API from my Firefox extension
I'm trying access some information about a Youtube video from my Firefox extension using the Youtube Player API.
I got a hint from this response. So I used:
myPlayer = document.getElementById("movie_player");
console.log(myPlayer);
And I looked at the console in Firefox, and it displays:
I can access the values, for example:
//MY CODE
console.log(myPlayer.clientWidth);
// CONSOLE OUTPUT:
640
But I can't use the function getCurrentTime
, even if it appears in console.log(myPlayer);
:
// MY CODE
console.log(myplayer.getCurrentTime);
console.log(myplayer.getCurrentTime());
// CONSOLE OUTPUT:
undefined
Does anybody know what is happening?
EDIT:
However, the getCurrentTime function works when called from the Firefox console:
>> myPlayer = document.getElementById("movie_player");
<div id="movie_player" class="html5-video-player ytp-transparent ytp-hide-info-bar ad-created ytp-large-width-mode playing-mode iv-module-loaded ytp-autohide" tabindex="-1" data-version="/yts/jsbin/player_ias-vflfmGnOV/fr_FR/base.js" aria-label="Lecteur vidéo YouTube">
>> myPlayer.getCurrentTime()
235.681
It seems that I need to import somehow the file that defines the function.
