phpmyadmin replication tab is missing

0

I'm not seeing the "replication" tab inside phpmyadmin (version 4.7.7).

I read that it's no longer available since version 4, but I see it in another phpmyadmin install on local machine (ships with MAMP PRO) which is running version 4.7.3

So is there setting somewhere where we can enable it? It's a real shame if there isn't which means we need to rollback to a previous version to get the feature we want.

What I tried:

  • I looked in config.inc.php, but couldn't find anything related to 'replication'

  • If I try to go to the "replication" URL (server_replication.php?server=1&sl_configure=1&repl_clear_scr=1) on the remote phpmyadmin it just says "Replication no Privileges"

  • Copied over all the files from MAMP install to the remote server
